We've been SO busy with cats!

It's been almost a month since our last newsletter, the first week we took off was because things were so slow there was not a lot to write about. After that things became so crazy there hasn't been time for much except the cats. Hopefully you've been following us on Facebook and have already seen much of what's below, but if not, read on to see what's new!

Sarah, in and out her 1st week!
|
Sarah was only at Petco a couple days when she was spotted by this young couple looking for a friend for their current kitty Rocky. Because she isn't spayed yet Sarah is still in Foster status but we're pretty sure she's not coming back! Her new mom wrote: She could not be sweeter and loves her new tower, belly rubs and fishing rod toy! We love Sarah already and she seems so happy.

Ginny & Cornelia to be Adopted by Foster Family!

Momma Ginny was one of the sweetest kitties ever and quickly won over her foster family who decided to adopt her and her daughter Cornelia.

Maverick still looking for a home

Ginny's adorable mini tuxedo son Maverick is still waiting to find a home, could that be with you? 12 weeks old, very sweet, outgoing and playful.

Reva still looking for a home
|
Adorable Reva has been fostering with Cindy for over a month. She really needs to find a home soon before Cindy decides to keep her :) 12 weeks old, spay appointment June 17th and will be all ready for a family to keep entertained!

James from Bdpt Animal Control

We were so happy to help place a cat from our friends at Bridgeport Animal Control. James was part of a large hoarding case and they took in 20+ cats. James was super sweet when we went to meet kitties and demanded we choose him.
|
James has an approved adopter coming to meet him tonight and we're pretty sure he's headed to his new home very soon! We'll then be able to help another Bridgeport kitty who's living on the streets or take one from BAC who can then take in another cat.
Help keep the rescue ball rolling by sharing our cats on social media! Networking has been a huge help in finding great adopters recently and foster homes as well, thank you to all you Facebookers!

Shifts at Petco finally covered!
|
Just 3 months into our partnership with Petco and we currently have ALL seven days of shifts covered! THANK YOU PETCO VOLUNTEERS!!! Everyone needs a day off once in awhile so we would love to sign up people to be a floater or backup. Easy cleaning, feeding and socializing with 2-4 cats at Petco. Flexible times in the AM or PM.

SUNNY part of our fluffy kitten crew, is the only shorthair. His sister Snowball is in a foster to adopt home but the two calico sisters are with him at Petco looking for adopters!

PATCHES has a little bit of black over her eye which makes her just slightly distinguishable from her twin Peaches! She is a little shy at first but likes to snuggle and have attention once you pick her up.

PEACHES is more snuggly than sister Patches and just as cute! We would love to see these two girls be adopted together, they are sure to grow into stunning adults
|

Sweet, shy Steve waited patiently for the purrfect adopters! This family had recently lost their long time kitty and were in need of feline companionship. They had a great vet reference and loving home waiting for him. The daughter was so happy she was crying when they left :)
|
And as you can, Steve highly approved of their petting techniques! His new dad wrote: He is doing great and fully comfortable in his new house. We love him!

Carter was living in a box on the side of a road when volunteer Terry reached out to ask if we could help. Who could say no to a cat in a box?! He turned out to be the sweetest boy and quickly won the hearts of many volunteers and visitors at Petco.
|
Technically he is "Nana banana's" cat but we're pretty sure the whole family is involved in giving him love :)

Mickey in Foster to Adopt home!
|
It's not an official adoption yet until dad is on-board but everyone else has decided he's staying :) We are still waiting for a photo from his foster family but we got a wonderful update from his new mom: I just wanted to let you know that Mickey is adjusting very well! He is exploring the house, eating well, and is so playful and affectionate! The kids are in the process of making him a cardboard box "castle" as they used to do with our previous cats.

Ollie is now an indoor kitty!
|
We trapped Ollie last week, an 8-9 orange boy who has been living outside in a colony for at least 2 years, maybe longer. He finally started letting me pet him while eating and he looked rough so it was time to get him to a vet and then inside. Ollie was neutered - way past time - and tested negative for aids and leukemia, remarkable for an un-neutered outside male cat!

He's in a foster home with the man who used to feed the colony and is doing really well there. I think the foster is going to keep him. Unfortunately the man feeds 10+ cat colonies daily and has little extra money to cover our regular adoption donation.
If anyone can help with the $150 cost of Ollie's neuter, vaccines, and testing we would be so grateful and then able to help another stray cat in need.
